Silly word press
Tuesday, June 26th, 2007So, for some reason, the giraffeblog.com site crashed, or word press did, or something, and i lost the last couple months of blog entries. Oh well. Let’s start anew.
Latest news was that I had an interview for a new, full time position within IKEA. It was for the Communications Activity Co-worker position. They’re responsible for launching new product (as in, placing it in the store on display), displaying product for whichever event (bedroom, kitchen, holiday, summer etc) we happen to be in the midst of. That sort of thing. Unfortunately, i didn’t get the position, for my lack of knowledge of the ACAD program. But, she encouraged me to keep applying for positions. They really liked my enthusiasm and energy.
I had my consultation with Dr. Brock, my therapist. She’s awesome, and talking with her made me feel really great and that i’ll be able to beat this trichotillomania. She advised me to go on Clonadine, if i felt comfortable with it, along with a new anti depressant that would work better against my anxiety than what i’m on now. I’m still doing research on the drug, to see if i’m comfortable with taking it. Dr. Brock feels my nervous system is too wound up and over stressed that i need to calm it down before any of the non-medicated tools she showed me will work. So, for those asking, no, i won’t be on the medication forever. Just until i can work with the med free tools. She also assured me that I’m not the only one going through the emotions and feelings that i’ve been having. That in its self was a huge relief. Even though I knew i wasn’t unique in this, it was still great to hear it from someone who isn’t related or close to me. For some reason it seems more believable. Like, “oh hey, you’re not just saying this to make me feel better” type thing. So now, i’m on her waiting list for actual therapy, but in the meantime, if i have any questions or problems, she wants me to call her right away.
The boys are growing like weeds, Dennis is still working hard. I start day shift next week, and the boys go into a dayhome three days a week. I’ll have tues/weds off and work thurs-monday. I’m excited! Other than that, same old same old. Oh, wait, my friend Joanne and Nicholas are moving in with us for the month of July. She has to be out of her place by the 30th because the management of the complex are selling all the units. But, her parents bought a house in Okotoks, and they get possession July 28th. Then she’ll live with them until she can find another place. (which is really hard to do in Calgary right now.)
Other than that, same old same old.
