Becky’s Nook

In our new house. I LOVE IT! It’s a pain to keep tidy, but what house isn’t with kids in it? Hehehe. Today, we got a new furnace installed. So nice to have a fresh start! The boys absolutely adore having their own rooms. Clay’s decided he wants to decorate it in Superman paraphenalia. So far I’ve gotten one poster! I’ve looked everywhere for bedding! Walmart, Zellers, Sears, no one has it. Sears online has it, but it’s expensive. We’ll have to see if that’s the only place to find it. Robbie is too little to decide what he wanted, so I chose fish. Well, more like aquatic. Anything to do with underwater. We went to IKEA and bought a quilt with seaweed, fish, typical oceanic life on it. We also bought some decals for the walls, and he now has an underwater sanctuary. His Aunty Faye bought him a cool 3D puzzle (of which i need to find a place to put it together) to put on his wall. It’s kind of holographic. It’s really cool, and fishy. Hehe.

 We still haven’t gotten any quotes on our bathroom yet. My dad’s supposed to be coming out to banff for a karate conference at the beginning of October. I’m hoping he can tell me if it’s a “do now or else” type thing, or if we can afford to wait to do it. The contractors are so busy, we probably won’t get it done till after winter, if it’s safe to do that. I hate mould.

I bought the boys Curious George, on dvd yesterday. Clay and I saw it in the theater. He loved it! I highly recommend it to anyone who has young kids. No bad guys, no violence. Just a crabby man trying to turn his dad’s museum into a parking lot. I love it too!

Other than that, same old same old. I’ll post again soon!

PS. Click the photo link on the right side there… I posted some pictures of the house from when we moved in. Some things have changed, like we bought a bigger bed for our room, and we got a new tv stand to fit the 37 inch tv we bought from a friend. But basically you can see what it’s like.

So, until we can find a photo program for this blog, i’ll be keeping my pictures at my old blog. If you don’t have the address for that anymore, it’s on the right hand side here, under Photos. I’ll be posting any pics of the boys and house etc there for now.

Well, Robbie turned 2 on Friday. I can’t believe it’s been two years since I gave birth to that wonderful little boy. We had a party for him, along with a housewarming party, on Saturday. Thanks to all who came out! We had a blast showing off our little boy, and our new house! 

 I’m trying to get the pictures posted. I’ll let you know when i do! 

So, we bought our washer and dryer set on August 8th, and set up the delivery for Sept 2, the day after we moved! It didn’t show up, and since it was the long weekend, we gave them the benefit of the doubt that the shipment was late. So, when they didn’t come on Tuesday, we called, and the lady said they’d been backordered until Sept 17! They couldn’t have called us in the three weeks since we bought them to let us know. So Dennis raised some hell and they found a set that were in stock. Their last set in the city. They promised it would be delivered the next day, Wednesday. They showed up weds, at 5pm, damaged. So Dennis, again, called and raised some hell, and said “we’re keeping these for use, and you’re going to get us our new ones when they come in” So, at least i have a way to do the laundry now. I’m really leary about buying anything from Home Depot again, if the way we were treated this week was regular practice.

Our new stove and dishwasher came on Thursday. No more handwashing dishes for me! Well, the pots maybe, but no more plates or glasses. The stove is lovely, ceramic top. I love it!

Things are starting to settle in nicely. We’re still kind of living out of boxes, as far as the boys stuff is concerned, until i can buy the furniture i want for in their rooms. The living room is slowly getting unpacked, and the kitchen and bathroom are done now! YAY!

Well, we got moved in Thursday night, 930pm. Thursday night we stayed at Joanne’s house because all our stuff was in the basement, kitchen, Clay’s room because the carpet cleaner was coming the next afternoon and we wanted to keep it vacant for them. So Friday comes, and the carpet cleaners come, and the carpets are much much better. We decided to stay at Joanne’s again, to give the carpets overnight to dry. We came back Saturday morning, expecting our washer and dryer to be showing up today, and it didn’t. So now, because of the long weekend, we must wait until Tuesday to even call anyone to see where it is. GRRRRR! But, my kitchen is all unpacked, the living room has furniture, and the boys each have their own rooms! Anyways, i’m beat, and sick with a bad cold and should probably go to bed. Just wanted to give you an update. Pics soon to follow.
